I think his point was that it's odd for the guy to have tanlines in the shape of the shorts while the girl has none at all; one would assume she'd have some to match the shape of the swimsuit.

Exactly my point. The boy has a tanline that would be caused by his suit. The girl should have one as well in the shape of her suit he is wearing but she has none.

She never went outside at all, then, since her face is just as white.

I am guessing they swim on a team and he is the captain. Therefore she should have a tan like he does since they would be swimming in the same location. Sorry I am just picky and like continuity and consistency in art.

just because she owns a school swimsuit doesn't mean she swims regularly
