Guessing a cruiser, probably light cruiser.
But could've been a destroyer too.

Maybe "Retired" Akagi From 1st episode?

She's not Akagi, I can tell you that much.
She's the Quest Giver NPC that has never been given an official name.
However, for some unknown reason, the fan-base (this is in Japan mind you) assume that she's the personification of Light Cruiser Oyodo , the only ship in her class.
...Who will likely never be otherwise implemented because she's... well, she'd be a much more expensive Tenryuu.

This comment is a bit prophetic in hindsight. A year on from then, the Quest-Giver *has* been implemented as Ooyodo...and she is one of the more resource intensive light cruisers. Spot-on.
