Dunno if you can read the katakana,but it clearly has the katakana for "bitch." Not "butch."

I'd assume it has to do with their dog basis rather than the insult form.

It's a curious bit of Japanese slang. They borrowed the word "bitch" to use with the meaning of "slut", as a shortening of the "like a bitch in heat" analogy.

Naturally, this causes a bit of confusion when it runs into the normal English usage of the term (i.e., "an unpleasant woman").
