I know they'll probably go with the 501st again in the new season; but in this case the third times a bit of a bore... With what happened in the movie; it seems obvious what the third season would likely be about...

Instead; I desperately (and probably vainly) wish that they would animate either the Suomus Misfits lite novels, or the World Witches North Africa doujinshi (non-h) series.

That way we get more Strike Witches, different characters, and with World Witches we should get to see hard-skin witches! (Land strikers, Major Miles, the Patton Girls, the Tiger Striker...)

They already confirmed that the newly announced TV series won't be "Season Three", so yeah, take that however you want.

Well, I suppose there is hope for a new focus then.
