Unfortunately I have little idea what it translates into, nor do I know what the three kanji's are in the first one. On 無(mu)、さ(sa) it's only guess work since I was going back and forth in my hiragana books without finding them sa is the best example of that one but in that case, the artist seems to have messed the hiragana up. The best translation google translate gave me was "Free.. Is it not?" or rather "Free... It's not no?"
Can't help you on the kanji, but that's a perfectly valid way to write さ. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's the normal way to write it--connecting the second and third strokes is more of a stylized thing. The standard typeface for Japanese characters just happens to render it that way.

Hmm, you are correct indeed. As for the Kanji, I was reading an article on hardcoregaming101 when I discovered the kanji for A in Ashura 阿, which is probably the wrong one though so the sentence becomes after much searching;
胸阿して腹隠あさず。 - "The Zu Asami belly hidden by Ali breast."
........ I wonder if I'm even on the right track. Getting flashbacks from Way of the Samurai 2 "Boiled tofu is great with soy sauce." ?_?
