It's official. I hate this artists's stories. I like the old theory that when you scrap or modernize ships, you just take away their weapons and armor then they return to normal civilization... this is just too dark to enjoy anymore.
I accept those type of stories, even if I don't like them. It's a nice change from the usual stories. I still don't like them, though.
All these games in which we thoughtlessly throw pieces at the game board, never caring for their stories. I must of sent thousands of "pieces" to their deaths, and rarely did I care, besides victory. During the times that I did care about the "pieces" was either in order to achieve victory, or for a achievement. You stick stories and lives into those pieces however, and a whole lot changes. ;_;
I make this FPS mod that will broadcast the good deeds of players' characters when they're killed, such as "a loving father", "tend the flower in the base". Everybody hates it.

Rejoice, the Canon explanation for scrapping & modernization is "Honorable/General Discharge", and girls return to civilian life. Guess that we should write lots of letter of recommendation for Naka-chan(s).
Also, they didn't exactly specified the nature of ship girls so that players can choose their own explanation.「提督それぞれのイメージを大事にしたいため、公式で艦娘がどのような存在かはガチっと定義したくない」

Much better. We can think that Naka-chan whom "scrapped" is actually discharge and begin her life trying to become an Idol.

I felt the kicker of the story could have been better. Having it all be for nothing is pretty cruel in of itself, but I think it would be more poignant to show this as a routine, normal event.

Yes, well this is Son Of a Bitch-chan we're talking about... I don't see anything positive coming from him. Just look at his artist page, all the "extra aliases" he has implies he and his works have been banned from Danbooru multiple times.

Hey, if politicians and military leaders did that, would the world be in the awful shape it's currently in?
Realization and Acknowledgement of atrocities is the first step in preventing them.
As someone who plays on a daily basis, I should have known this... >_<
My, but I thought you knew already.You should say things like that beforehand...
You're the secretary ship after all...Episode 1 ENDAdmiral, I believe you're aware of this, but when you modernize a ship without improving her abilities, it won't contribute to your daily quest.
One of KanColle's recurring daily quests is "艦の「近代化改修」を実施せよ! (Make modernizations [composition] on your ships!)".
If you succeed twice in the modernization in a day, you will clear the quest. Every time you succeed on the quest, you get one bucket of high-speed repair material.
Note that the modernization without improving ship's abilities is not counted as a success.
