Tourists were coming out of the airport one after another, and it looked like any train we took would be similarly crowded, so we gave up and got on. Being on our feet for nearly 40 minutes straight just frazzled us. :-)
Reader-added tags include: "System: 'There is no food in Oshikura-manjū'" (a back-to-back shoving game for 3+ people, kept in Japanese for the pun), "It's stuck in your head, Kogasa-san", and "Farewell, Kogasa-san (main body)".
The survey needs a little extra time or assistance in boarding:
You can't sit. Where will you ride? • Near the coupler • Next to the door • In the middle • In front of the door • I won't ride
No place to ride? No problem! As long as you have some place to lean on, things should be alright.
Unless it's the door. God knows when it'll fail during transit, like this one instance in Thailand where a skyrail's doors malfunctioned and opened in transit... some 30 meters above traffic surfaces.
You can't sit. Where will you ride? • Stand on the coupling of the last car holding wherever you can • Climb on the roof and sit near the pantograph • (in case it`s too cramped) Just relax, you may even take a nap, you won`t fall. You`ll be hold standing by the other people.
That looks... really not safe. One shove or bad turn, and I'd be worried I'd go flying through the door opening.
Looks like the bus going to the place I live from the rail station. It gets like that on just about every bus leaving. I dread being the last one on, then having to stand. Worse still seeing someone come up in a wheelchair; to seat one, the bus loses three seats.
For the poll, I tend to move towards the middle, then start pushing towards the door when I'm only a couple stops away from where I'm getting off.

its not safe. it's actually quite dangerous. and it's a huge problem. so much so that the government have implemented a giant dangling boulder to stop people from doing it.
Only one specific city (the capital) They're a car-based society and all the railways are (what's left of) legacy of the colonial government hundred of years ago. Other than few big cities, commuter train are non-existent.
The A Train is packed to hell and you're not taking the C. Time to suck it up and hope there's a handle you can reach.
