Yowyn is famous for its "Harvest Time" events, where one has to harvest vegetables that, in some cases, are described as "bigger than a man". (Ranging from "extremely mini" to "legendary-sized".)

I don't quite think this qualifies as a gameplay mechanic, though, unlike a lot of Rueken works, since it lacks an obvious status bubble.

Also, those cute fairies sure seem to show up a lot in town in Rueken's works.

EDIT: And I just realized that was the Younger Sister, and not just some random town girl with a hat...

Oh god, giant mansize apple, such a waste... there is NO WAY, short of a hundred-man eating contest, to get through one of those before it oxidizes and gets all gamy.

Actually, given how the eating mechanic works, any single food item is eaten in one meal, regardless. How much it fills you up is determined by the cooking skill of the cook, not the size of the ingredients. And all cooked food weighs .5 kg, even if the ingredients weigh something drastically different, like .1 kg for basic nuts or fruits, up to the "Legendary Sized" 54 kg melons.

(The super-sized versions of vegetables only exist for that one quest type, anyway, where you are scored by total weight of vegetables harvested. All vegetables and fruits you get outside the quest for eating/cooking/selling purposes are of a standardized size.)

And you can eat a 50kg Big Daddy corpse in one go... though that doesn't really help since that type of corpse is bad for a character.

Specifically, it's considered a machine, so eating it gives your character "severe intestinal issues" unless you have traits that let you eat anything, and even then, it's a bad idea.

You can actually eat a lot of other types of creatures that are heavier than that in one go, but most of them are not good eating, either. Aliens weigh alot but make you "pregnant". (Read as: parasitized by a xenomorph.) Many of the Lovecraft-inspired Elona creatures are heavy, but damage your sanity; Golems are also inorganic.

Dragons and giants are good eating, though. Dragons can even permanently raise resistance to specific damage types, like fire or electricity, based upon dragon type.

Yeah, and certain other types of monsters can increase potential for some stats as I recall. Not on the level of herbs, but it still helps.
