As the comic notes, however, even in "Do your best, Fubuki-chan", Fubuki may be the viewpoint character, but she's not really the protagonist. She merely goes around talking to the other characters, who can then show off their quirks. Ise is much more the protagonist.

The anime may well be the same; Protagonist in name only. Basically, equivalent to Yomi in Azumanga Daioh; The straight-man who exists just to set up Osaka or Tomo's jokes.

Might as well be for the best. Fubuki never felt like a compelling character in fanworks, much less canonical stories.

Well thats what we got... an unappealing anime along with it's main chara. Should have just taken one ep (6) and call it a day while the rest is just rubbish

I'll be honest, the Mobile Unit 5 Arc was the best part of the show. Rumor has it that those episodes were producer mandated.

Speaks volume how terrible the original idea is when someone else's input was better than what they originally had.
