Jeez, rhapsode draws a very tomboyish Futo and a very ladylike Tojiko. Not that I'm complaining... I know Tojiko is modeled after the real Prince Shotoku's wife, anyone have an idea who Futo was modeled after?

According to some sources (that I don't know how reliable they are), Mononobe no Futo is supposed to be "Futsuhime", Soga no Umako's wife and thus Tojiko's mother. According to these same sources Futsuhime and Umako conspired to kill Futsuhime's brother, head of the Mononobe Clan.

So the real-life Futo conspired to assassinate the head of her own clan? That's a pretty far cry what ZUN's interpretation, who, for all intents and purposes, murdered Tojiko, arguably a comrade or political ally, because the Mononobe clan was devastated by the Soga clan.
