I have no idea who she is, but she delivers small boats, has a bird on her head, and massive puppy eyes, so she's okay in my book.

Though going by the last page, I'd put my bet on Haguro in an alternate outfit.

I haven't run across many of the Marus yet...sigh, this is even harder than learning Touhous.

Actually her name is Akitsu Maru with a space, and yes the boat is one of her unique equipments that is uncraftable

also a bit of trivia, she is called "ZUN-ship" by the japanese, due to her canon art being rather similar to ZUN art.

Well you know how you learn Touhou names by hair and silly hat?
Just apply the same principle but instead of that, use uniform and silly rigging.

KanColle names are easier to remember.
Bigger ships have name based on things from the map (river, mountain, provinces) so you've probably heard it somewhere before. Destroyers have naming pattern that's far less chuu-2 than Touhou's.

And they don't have family names.

Going through these comics again, here's another page with some unexplained terms.

In the first panel Akitsu-maru is talking about Daihatsu-class landing craft, an equipment that comes with Akitsu-maru. Said equipment, when given to a ship sent on an expedition, will allow the expedition to give +5% more supplies.
