This reminded me pocket-full-moon, conveniently utilized by Colonel Aki's Keine.

The mirror bit reminds me of a scene in Final Fantasy Unlimited when Lou asks Ai for a mirror so she can transform into a werewolf to help Kaze protect the Phantom Train from Chaos. This is the scene I'm talking about.

I wonder if using a mirror to transform is a part of old werewolf stories?
