I don't blame Mystia for that slap. Wriggle getting all prejudice here is kind of the pot calling the kettle black.

It's more the degree of regeneration that's freaking Wriggle out. Mokou was effectively dead when she ran into her body. If it were just "really badly injured/maimed" then she might not think much of it, but "oh, hey, she was dead. now she's not. now she's not even singed" is much different.

It's not surprising, really. Youkai are resilient creatures. But it's true if you were to beat one into a near-unrecognizable shape, as much power as that might take, they wouldn't simply "pop" back to normal in a manner of minutes. Youkai can still die, even if it's not easy.
And I'm kind of glad this series is mentioning Mokou's immortality as an issue. It was the 800-pound gorilla in the room.
