Well, I didn't expect the author to completely disregard the mechanics already set forth, and just swap the functionality out for a "Rebigulator" gun.

Of course, applying this logic with the existing mechanics would mean that puchis simply grow nigh-infinitely as they age while looking the same. (And that so would Kongou's panties...)

Having to say "If you think about it, you lose" is author code-speak for "Shut up, I know it makes absolutely no sense! Stop bothering me about it!"

Speaking of failing to think, though, why couldn't the Admiral just, I don't know, fire the gun while touching the barrel to the target so as to ensure nothing could get in the way? (Granted, this Wile E. Coyote setup would ensure failure no matter what action was taken, anyway...)

If you're expecting logic, consistency, or indeed anything else out of this series besides "wacky hijinks" based on the first idea out of the author's head that strikes him/her as funny, you're expecting more than this series will ever provide :)

Think of this as being to Kancolle as The Melancholy of Haruhi-Chan is to its source material, Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth to mainstream Naruto, or, well, Puchimasu to Idolmaster. It's a simplified caricature where the Rule of Funny (for certain values of funny) trumps all else.
