At the end, Haruna was left in Kure, and they apparently tried to camouflage her (although this isn't mentioned in Wikipedia or several other places I looked up).
It proved less effective than putting Houshou in front of her, though, and Haruna was hit by several bombs over a couple days of bombing, and sank at her moorings. She was raised up just to be cut apart and scrapped after the war by the Japanese.
