On pixiv, this consists of 90 jpg frames for a total size of ~6 MB. This is lossy-lossless x90, but making a gif would degrade quality.

Reason this is so huge is because the uploader converted it to apng before uploading to Danbooru. It was 6mb on Pixiv, originally jpg.

Is that a bad thing? Are there any other ways to download the original .png files from pixiv instead of the compressed .jpg files, somehow the huge filesize does really bothers me.

They could have tried doing it like Twitter

Although with Pixiv as an art site, it could bring trouble if the compression introduced artifacts or destroyed details

There are no original png files for this image.
