I think the person who did this was trying to eat the freaking cake with an anime character. Like how people would eat lunch in front of the gravestone of their deseased parents. In either case, the infatuation is being carried out to the next dimension through the action of the living. However, one can argue that in the formal case, the subject of the action is quite perverse, but of course, the arguement is only relative to what kind of moral standard each beholder holds, for one philosopher once said "The best arguement to anything is 'That's what you think.'"
Doing something out of perversive intention and doing it out of pure fascination used to have a fine line between them. But otaku's just blur everything into obscurity nowadays.
