Aren't the Prismrivers way better for this? They are barely drawn anymore, and going by danbooru numbers Minoriko alone has more posts than Merlin and Lyrica together. Even Shizuha has more than Lunasa, and in the popularity poll the Akis were above the Prismrivers.

Now we just need Celestia, Luna and the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and maybe Discord and Cadance, though I have no idea who any of those would be paired up with (Except Luna x Kaguya and possibly CMC x Sangetsusei)

The running gag about the Akis' (lack of) popularity has been around for a long time, and ironically has made them more popular with some. And as we all know, memes like this, once started, are not easily stopped by such trifling matters as reality. It also doesn't erase the stigma that, in the first popularity poll which included them, the Akis finished dead last among all Windows-era Touhou characters, and even behind a few PC98-era ones. I don't think any debuting character had a poorer performance in their first poll.
