Goddamn it Maruyu-san...

Is it just me or does this whole fight + arena remind me of Grappler Baki? Especially Tonda Admiral, looks like straight up pulled from some pages of Baki

I call foul, Matsuda can tank freaking destroyer shells. ACTUAL DESTROYER SHELLS FROM THEIR MAIN BATTERIES.

Maru-yu-san can punch a crater into the ocean with minimal effort. She can obliterate a Shinkaisei-kan with a touch.

She can catch Shimakaze with a mile head start, move faster than the fourth wall and her body is practically all muscle. Matsuda might be able to take DD shells but Maru-yu-san kills Heavy Cruisers with her appearance alone. That and a barrage of bullets is nothing more than light rain to her

This match was over the moment she showed up. It wasn't even a battle. But at least Maru-yu-san is holding back on the poor man.

This actually could have been an interesting concept without that cop-out for a lame joke.

Maru-yu-san is fine in her own series - in that context, it's amusing to have a notoriously weak kanmusu become an avatar of destruction.

Putting that kind of joke up against characters that are meant to be serious badasses, like Matsuda, is absurd.

Are you suggesting they nerf Maru-yu-san to the point of having her suck the other character's dick? That would just be rude to Maru-yu-san and the rest of the admirals. Let's face it, even if you take out her ungodly power from her series she still is a few hundred ton battle machine, even if she can't dive properly. The rest of the admirals are about as human as they can get except for Abyss Admiral. Not sure what he is, so I'll assume alien or something
You can't really stand up to something that can fire torpedos that can sink hundred ton ships and take blasts on a daily basis.

Besides, Matsuda is actually standing up to her in this one. Hell he took multiple hits head on. That's pretty badass in itself.

She's a supply submersible, she doesn't normally have weapons!

I have to admit that Matsuda is a bit OP compared to ordinary humans himself - he's taken on kanmusu in their humanoid form before (and survived naval bombardment in their ship form). He's the only one of the admirals who could reasonably be expected to take on Maru-yu-san, but really he should at least be getting a few hits in, even if she no-sells them.
