    Going by the story of the music CDs, she doesn't even have any relatives(at least not in Japan, but I doubt she actually do outside either).
    It was never brought as an issue because, well, they're college students. Living alone is not really a weird thing in their eyes.

    It was assumed that she lost her parents in an accident and even further speculation that she is an overseas transfer student.
