Personally, when I had those really EARLY morning classes (like 5 AM) in college, I put the alarm clock on the other side of the room so that I had to actually get out of bed and walk to turn it off... When you escape the special gravity well of the blankets and feel the cold of the floor, sleep fades fast.

I got really good at semi-consciously sprinting across the room, turning off the alarm, then diving back into my bed which was lofted 5 feet above the ground.
In retrospect, I really needed an alarm clock in every corner of the room.
