You forgot Kaga is also in this base. And judging from the large number of shipgirls running around, the other half are probably doing Expeditions 37 and 38 to compensate for all that resource used.

If I'm correct Zuikaku and Shoukaku have actually the lowest supply consumption among fleet carriers, maybe that's why we don't see them being so gluttonous.

They used to be one of the lowest (higher than Souryuu and Hiryuu pre K2) but that achievement goes to the Unryuu-class now

quoting from the Yamato trivia section from the wikia:

She wears an Armband that resembles the Maritime signal Flag for the letter "Z", the Z flag played a major role in Japanese Naval History. On May 27, 1905, Admiral Heihachirō Tōgō raised the Z flag on his flagship the IJN Mikasa before the start of the Battle of Tsushima and the Z flag was raised on the Akagi on the eve of the Attack on Pearl Harbor. The raising of the flag means the following: "The fate of Imperial Japan hangs on this one battle; all hands will exert themselves and do their best."

So, Akagi and Yamato being super eaters are not fanon anymore, it's canon now. Speaking of which, in the new furniture for Hina Matsuri too, I think I see Akagi sneaks a bite on the mochi beside her.
