    These days, they even have Kratongs made of bread. That way, when they are let adrift, fish can eat them too.
    .. Actually, even though I say that, I'll just buy one at the shops near the festival. Making one just feels like a hassle, y'know..
    Wowww, bread, huh? That actually sounds tasty. Oh, and that means we won't have to make our own Kratong out of banana tree trunk and leaves, right?
    Ehhh..? Don't you want to make one at all?
    On the subject of Kratongs: First you start with a sliced-off circular hunk of banana tree trunk, then use banana tree leaves and pins to hold it together. Afterwards, you decorate it with all sorts of flowers to make it look beautiful! Loy Kratong means "to float a basket." In this case, the "basket" is a symbol of one's sins, transgressions, griefs. By floating them away and promising to better oneself for future days to come, it is a sign of reverence. It was believed that this was done to honor the water spirits as well.
