Afterwards, you decorate it with all sorts of flowers to make it look beautiful!
Loy Kratong means "to float a basket." In this case, the "basket" is a symbol of one's sins, transgressions, griefs. By floating them away and promising to better oneself for future days to come, it is a sign of reverence. It was believed that this was done to honor the water spirits as well.
