I could explain the math for the Fourier series, but I don't know how to type the summation symbols with the index numbers.

Seriously, we need MathJax or LaTeX support on Danbooru. [/joke]

Who will be the sacrifice that we toss at Ashigara? I'm saving myself for Houshou or a battleship.

Who in the fleet needed to learn about Fourier series in the first place?!

I was going to say that it's just the Heaviside step function, but the domain isn't the full real line.
Either way, if it is a repeated signal, then isn't the Fourier decomposition mainly a sum of several cosine components with the amplitudes decreasing as the frequency increases beyond 2L? Or is the square-wave decomposition a bit different?
Edit: Also, the Heaviside step function isn't cadlag (right continuous with left limits), whereas this function is.

This is quite simple... for someone like myself who studies nuclear physics.

F of x equals zero when x is greater than or equal to negative one, and less than zero; otherwise, f of x equals one when x is greater than or equal to zero, and less than one. This is a piecewise-defined function.
Given this function f with period 2L...
    Question...
Severely pissed off from the failure of the mixer.
...find the corresponding Fourier series representation for f... This is basically 2nd year University-level math, in most countries.
