Those lucky men, getting to see Houshou in person. And Shitty Admiral is still there, doing grunt work (moving supplies for Houshou). I'd almost swear they're married, given the effort he's putting in to help.

I'm really hoping shino eventually reveals Shitty Admiral's backstory. Many might dislike the mystique of his personality being decreased, but I'm really curious why he does what he does.

This feels like it's immediately after the events of "Mothers are Strong". Perhaps he feels that the Admiralty (and therefore himself, as the Admiralty's direct representative) owes Houshou and the rest of this naval base a personal effort to remedy the failures of the... prior incumbent.

Also, he may personally admire Houshou's willingness to sacrifice her life, her health, and her career for the sake of her daughters.
