Well, he considers Akatsuki's ring an important detail. And to be fair, it is - the fact that he's en-ring-ified the whole DesDiv 6 is a significant character/plot point at this naval base.

I daresay Akatsuki herself would be most distressed if she knew someone was drawing her and forgot to draw her ring.
