A redraw of one of my favorite cells from the original Dragonball anime, of my favorite girl from the show. Launch went from being a one note joke character that only appeared to shoot at people, to... well, still being a joke character, but actually being the "normal Launch" of her two personalities for long stretches, showing compassion, friendship and concern. She was always the more real of the two to me, and I always thought her inability to fit in, yet her slow progress towards considering the rest of the cast her family, made her feel more human.

Unfortunately the last time we ever see blonde Launch, she's drinking herself to death, alone, preparing to die after losing the only person she ever thought she loved, who didn't even love her back. Blonde Launch had a rough life. The blue haired version has appeared in the background one or two times since, but never with lines. A shame.

The cell I used as reference was from episode 126 of the original Dragonball series. Launch is making a kind of suggestive pose in the doorway as Tien and Yamcha train, a couple of minutes away from being surprised that the dragonballs have been returned from stone, to their normal state.

The image was drawn in Paint Tool Sai using binary layers for lines and shading, to ensure there's no aliasing. I hadn't had a chance to see how accurate I could get with binaries, so I took my time with this one. A few hours.
