I never really thought about it too hard. The fact that manga are usually in black and white and any lighter or darker hue in between most readers are probably pretty desensitized to the idea of cannibalism/human eating with so much of it happening in Fantasy/Horror mangas. Slap some colors on though and instantly the bright red snaps you back to reality. To think this would be a natural meal for Ghouls as well. It's pretty unsettling.
Or maybe I don't know. Maybe it's just me. Maybe people who are desensitized to this subject are all down to this.
What kind of dish involves just jawbones? I guess perhaps he may have already picked it clean.
Just the concept of ghoul cuisine is insanity. Not because of the gore, it's the limitation of ingredients they can use. How do they cook their dishes? Slice to orient and different method of cooking? That's like a man who can only eat beef and he's limited to anything that comes from a cow. Steak, cow heart, ribs and etc. Thats it, eyes for breakfast, liver for lunch and a t-bone for dinner. Just how diverse is a cuisine if there's only one or two things a being can eat?
From what I've read to date there has only been one Ghoul who has cooked their meal(correct me if I'm wrong) and that was to feed and deceive their own child(who wasn't a Ghoul and was adopted). Maybe it loses the flavor?
