Presumably, the proper way to do it is to feed them bauxite, and then that gets turned into their magic paper... somehow. (Don't ask where or how the paper is produced!!!)

I do think that's just their storage system, the archer carrier will have their planes stored in arrow form while onmyouji carrier have their planes stored as paper. Which is while totally different, they still using planes.
