To all those wondering the Geography is vastly different compared to that of our world. In fact as a case and point in the witches world the Gulf Neruoi War takes place in the nation of Ostman and sitting adjacent to it is Persia: a nation that Geographically speaking consists of both Iran and Iraq since historically it never did become two separate nations and to some degree still holds many of it's historical, cultural and ethnic heritage even far into the 20th century.
Or in regards to Persia this would be the case in the current Second Neruoi War Cannon Continuity, it seems that for the Gulf Neruoi War Project it seems to either be following the older, retconned Second Neuroi War Geography and hasn't been updated or alternatively Persia may have been overrun by the Neruoi somewhere between the 1940's to 1990's, consumed all the countries natural resources (specifically the land and mineral resources within)and the whole nation as a result fell into the sea after it was processed, thus resulting in the inland sea east of Ostman.

As many (human) lives were mercilessly lost, and the world was again threatened by the menace of the Neuroi, peoples from many countries and regions joined forces, and the “multinational allied army” was formed. The witches formed the vanguard of the army. To liberate the Arabian Peninsula, and protect the world, they would unleash their fierce fighting power again.

Setting
The wealthy, oil producing country of the “United Kingdom of Jazeera” controls the entirety of the Arabian Peninsula region. The geography is based on that of “Strike Witches Horizons”
