Artist's commentary
Hayashimo
I wanted to draw Hayashimo's last moments running aground at Semirara Island,
but it ended up more like a landing than being stranded.
Incidentally, all her torpedoes were apparently dumped to avoid a secondary explosion.
For that reason, it seems she couldn't even scuttle herself.
