I honestly can't say I want him gone, despite what he's done. I bet even in their world, they seem him semi-favourably, almost in that: 'he's not THAT bad,' mind-set.

He has his good moments, though I think we've only seen one or two. Might even be competent at his actual work, rather than these mostly off-duty incidents.
He also seems popular with the shipgirl trolls and perverts for reasons I can't imagine.
