Yamashita is a girl in the manga. What is he in the anime?

Is Yamashita the one behind the twins? If so she's portrayed as a girl in the anime, a bit of a tomboy but still a girl.

Yeah, but she's refered to as "-kun" and even as "him" unless that was a translation error. I don't know how Japanese works exactly, but generally -kun applies to boys and I don't know if there's any gender neutrality when refering to other people.

Ya know, I was sure s/he wore a bikini/swimsuit in the swimming pool segment in episode 4, but I just went back and looked and s/he conveniently has jacket and shorts on.

The anime needs to just disappear. It failed so hard in the first episode.

Have you seen anymore episodes after the 1st? It actually improves. Don't bash a series just based on one episode.

Yeah, it improves alot. I know it's not going to follow the manga exactly, especially towards the end, but it's a really good show.
