That's why parent-child relationships are only supposed to be used for alternate variations of the same image; if a revision were made to one of the non-last posts, there'd be no way to put them in order (except to create a pool). Plus there's no native navigation for moving between parent/child posts besides clicking on them or doing a wonky tag search.
