So... this is the first loss we have in 2016. RIP.

    I just hope 2016 won't be a shitstorm like 2015 was.

I apologize if I sounded negative or something, didn't want to be so. I just wish for a better year than the last one. I don't want to upset anyone or something. Just ignore me if I'm being a jerkass.

'15 indeed had extra spinning fans around the world and not because of deaths of key culture figures. I think this pool will not decrease it's "refreshing rate".

Don't forget, that a lots of people die annually for various reasons, young and old.
Right now we witnesing time when first-second generations of modern culture and media (read "seen it's birth, rise, shine and fade") creators are starting to die out. After rapid evolution of media (since around 90s) thanks to computers and 'nets more people involved in media and entertainment in general - so more people became creators of our culture. More of them go sleep tonight nobody and tomorrow wake up as world famous. And so more people will cause our mourning.
So think about it - lots of people living now, which work and references we know, like and keeping eye for their new stuff, one day just won't update anymore.

Now, you can call me heartless jerkass and hate me as much as you can.

His is such a loss. Bowie's music is among the many great musicians I've come to learn and love growing up into an adult. "The Width of a Circle." "Five Years." "The Bewlay Brothers." "Station to Station." Pretty much all of the Berlin Trilogy he collaborated on with Eno. Even his more poppy periods have their highlights ("Young Americans," "China Girl," "It's No Game") and he was still recording up to the very end. I guess it's just the suddenness of it that's startling...there was no indication anything was wrong with him.

Godspeed, Ziggy. Keep being a rock 'n' rollin' bitch for us in the next world.

First there was Lemmy Kilmister, the hairy demon biker whith his distinctive voice and mutton chops. The ur-exemple of the "Sex and drugs and rock and roll" way of life sung by Ian Dury, with his love for drugs and his daily bottle of Jack Daniel's. The Ace of Spades cowboy left us, riding Orgasmatron's demonic train at full speed.

Now it is David Bowie that leaves us, odd-eyed fallen angel of unreal beauty, vague entity with a thousand faces and personas: Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Halloween Jack, the Thin White Duke, Thomas Jerome Newton, John Blaylock, Jack Celliers, Jareth the Goblin King, Lucifer Morningstar or Yoshikage Kira... Major Tom will remain silent to Ground Control's calls, and the Light bearer returned to Heaven at the side of his Maker.

We will miss both of you.

    Read his wikipedia page.

He spent his last few days celebrating his birthday and making one last album. All the while fighting cancer.

    RESPECT
