Definitely truth. I think anyone who's tried to make that dish has done that at least once.

The soy sauce bottle always pours out more sauce than you wanted. And sometimes it even suddenly flows out even faster than before.

Yanno, just measure it on spoon first. Did that after few cases of this happening to mine...

I've seen it overflow the spoon. Best thing to do, even if the rice turns black, is to put in a reasonable amount and then add more after tasting.

I thought part of the whole point of TKG is that you don't even need a spoon. Unless you used one to scoop the rice, that is, but I prefer a paddle.
