Artist's commentary
HMCS Haida (G63) is a Tribal-class destroyer that served in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) from 1943-1963.
HMCS Haida is the last of the Tribal-class destroyers which saw heavy action with the Australian, British and Canadian navies during World War II. Built for the Royal Canadian Navy at Newcastle, England, in 1942, this ship served on the frigid Murmansk run and in clearing the English Channel for the Normandy invasion.
(Pictures of HMCS Haida, the ship itself on my flickr if you want to, or haven’t already looked at it; currently updating with more shots)

I still have a few more sketches that I need to work on (mainly details relating to her arnaments), but I’ll post everything on pixiv once its all done.
Her arnaments are based on her change into a DDE (Destroyer Escort). Probably should’ve stuck with the standard quad torpedo tubes instead of the Squid ASW Mortars.
