For years there were rumors that KFC used mutated chickens. Giving farm animals growth hormones to increase size and production can have some pretty horrific consequences after all, but these rumors were freaky as hell. Try Googling for "KFC uses mutated chickens". The results are horrifying and even though the rumors were later disproved, it helped turn me off fast food completely.

Key word, "rumors". Fast food is really not that bad (and anyone who thinks GMO is bad probably never planted anything in their life or needs to take a genetics class), but like anything, too much of a single thing is bad for you. The problem is too many people spread slander and libel and assume the worst without any facts that the "health" community is more of a religious cult than dietary science.
