The emphasis on 'partially'. Eggwhite protein starts to coagulate on 80 degree Celcius, where the yolk begins to thicken around 65 °C and sets around 70 °C. Meanwhile, the temperature of average industrial-grade rice warmer varies between 60 and 80 °C; not counting the ambient element that may drastically reduce the temperature of rice once it was taken outside. That's why you need to mix the whites and the yolk, so it appears to thicken (while actually it didn't; the yolk thicken first so it seems the whites too thicken) and quickly mix it with the hot, steaming rice on the center of the bowl to get the full experience of TamagoKakeGohan. But with Gyudon at fast-food shops that's being keep warm with hot water bath running beneath the metal container, the 'mix all things' method won't work and you'll risk getting yourself Salmonella. Think well before you TKG, peeps!

They don't vaccinate, but neither do the eggs need to be refrigerated (they're washed, but not pressure washed); and they have a much lower rate of salmonella than the US to boot (which given the high raw egg consumption, is saying something).

Adding some fact that's probably left unknown, mixing shoyu into TKG actually helps killing bacteria. Pasteurization of shoyu kills the fermenting bacteria, leaving alcohol, monosodium glutamate and organic acids that helps inhibits growth of malignant bacteria, giving your immune system more time to eliminate them. #themoreyoulearnfromcooking
I don't think Hoppo held a grudge against Nagato - she just sensed someone behind her, and hissed at them to try and defend her hishimochi. It's PTSD, really - their first meeting involved sakura mochi,after all
Gotta love how Nagato immediately looks up at Angel Hoppo after she's been enlightened, as if she knew that would happen.
