Actually the "correct" translation doesn't make much sense either since a transistor doesn't store anything.

Even if it doesn't make sense, the upper caption made me laugh.

This is coming from the guy who thought it was a good idea to "pamper his Tachikoma with organic oil". It makes a lot more sense if you consider the possibility that Batou just doesn't know what he's talking about. It's just like Han Solo measuring his performance in the Kessel Run in Parsecs (a measure of distance, not time).

OT: You know, I've often thought about that infamous Kessel Run. It could still be viewed as a test of superior skill if you completed the trip in less distance. For example, let's say that one normally flies _around_ an asteroid belt and thus travels further in order to get to the destination. However, some hotshot decides to fly _through_ the belt, evading dangerous planetoids and miscellaneous debris. If he makes it through at average speed or better, he likely will have taken BOTH less time AND less distance to complete the trip. ^_^

Heh, so my hunch was right... although three decades behind the times.

    Thanks for the link!

I hate myself for this, but according to cannon, the Kessel run involves skirting a cluster of black holes, and Han cut closer than most people would consider safe, cutting parsecs off his trip.

    Goddamn it, I'm a loser.

Is this a fake? Seems odd that both are in exactly the same font otherwise.

Organic only in the sense that it comes from actual dead dinosaurs and not some chemist's lab. For the record, natural petroleum-based oil is only recommended for high-mileage vehicles and new vehicles during their break-in periods because of its lower viscosity.

And actually transistors are key to storing data, RAM uses a latching transistor and a cap to store each bit.
