Muppo does occasionally get breaks for positive/neutral experiences, but her raison d'etre really is to suffer life's various frustrations on the audience's behalf, mainly so she can use her trademark angry glare. Thankfully, the artist knows to keep her tragedies on a small scale, maintaining the bittersweet humor of sympathy for shared experience instead of darkening the mood with serious trauma.

And for good or ill, life has enough variety of such minor ills that I don't expect the artist to run out of ideas for a while yet (depending on how frequently he posts, of course).

But seeing Muppo's misfortunate is the driving force for these comics. As terrible as it is to laugh it funny because it just hit so close to reality.
That and pain and misery taste of nector.

On a sidenote, that's part of the price to pay by having long hair.
