    Well, look at the vigour of the rain sweep, look at the lights of man blinking through the wind-tossed branches *, the distant paling of the far under-cloud, the tumultuous washing of the road, the safety of the city houses. The artist is a master.

    Besides I prefer it to sun.

    • I mention mankind since one wouldn't have seen bright lights in a storm anywhere over 500 years ago. Fuck, it's only since automobiles came in that one could see what the hedges along a road look like at night.

    Now I can't help but play "Late Goodbye" in my head. The song has nothing to do with storm though.
