Lots of admirals have "accidentally" sunk a shipgirl at one point or another in their career, especially among the new, careless and indifferent ones.
I really do wish we have a "Bad Route" version that happens as a player-specific event where the entire naval base loses morale for every shipgirl sunk.

I did it too. It was U-511. Lost her in pre-event training. The thing is, I was completely used to how things works, I noticed that she was red too. But for some reason, I only noticed that once I have chosen the battle formation. And I seriously even wished that they would miss her. Of course they didn't. I lost her. Yeah. I lost U-511.... And you know, I didn't feel bad as I thought I would have. I just felt a little empty, a little desperate. Aside from that, I didn't feel nothing. Not a single thing. Of course I tried to spend the whole event or what's left of it to find U-511 again, which was supposed to be for Graf Zeppelin back when she was first introduced. But I'm good. U-511 came back. There was no Graf for me that time, but I was good, with just U-511 coming back.
And now I guess all that left is a crazy ufufufu to tie this up as a mental former admiral's talk. And yeah, those were the truth. You can't really avoid sinking one of your girls. I was careful enough to make sure to turn back when someone's red. Still lost my girl. Still lost her.
