I think we're still in that plot. Yamashiro still being part of the main force was just a "hope spot" for her - she's his only other battleship after all. Mutsu might not be her only competition soon... will she still be part of the main force if the Ises and the Bongos show up?
Also, the Nagatos get pretty insane after their Kais...
Remember for people with severe negative mindsets, they can't stay happy for long. Anything can send them back into depression.
That might make sense from a realism standpoint, but not from a literary standpoint. It undercuts dramatic tension to have already proven how that plot point will be resolved, especially so recently. (Unless it's happening to different people to establish a foil, although in that case, the whole point is that the results of the same situation will be different.)

Even if you want to make such an argument, it's a bad idea to have created a mini-resolution, since that releases the tension of the main plot before it's built up to its proper climax.
Again, it's kind of like Dark Knight Rises Batman having to re-learn how to be Batman just to lose and then go back to needing to learn to be Batman AGAIN. It only serves to nullify the meaning of the first "relearning" portion.

I think I get what you mean. However, it feels like nothing has changed about Yamashiro, just the circumstances that she's in. I'm pretty curious how she's going to develop/adapt. I'm liking rappa's take on the characters so far.
Also maybe this comic is "based on actual historical events". I mean rappa could've start a dupe account just to try all this stuff firsthand. So yeah, some plot points can be pretty repetitive.

As others have mentioned, Shota Admiral seems to have a really easy time clearing things, and there's no demonstration of grind. (We've only seen destroyers go on expedition once, but presumably, they're doing a lot to make up for all the damage they've taken.) Rappa's almost certainly cutting out the "boring bits" in order to give a more interesting story.
If the story is already being heavily edited, then, if it's repetitive, it's solely because Rappa chooses to be repetitive.
