He might want to bring a box of tissues before he goes... or just give up and accept that Fusou's going to need to do some laundry after Yamashiro gets it all out of her system.

I think that Yamashiro may direct her obsessive fixation back onto Fusou now that the latter is here.

I wouldn't bet on that too heavily. If an artist goes to the trouble of setting up a character trait outside the norms of a character's memes, they generally don't throw it away fifteen pages later. Like I said last strip, I suspect she'll go, "OK, Nee-sama, now we must bring glory to the Fusou-class. We won't lose to the Nagato-class!"

I hope this is the case. I like it when illustrators take a character and give their own spin on them. She can still be "Nee-sama"!Yamashiro, but not so much that it isn't Rappa's interpretation of her.
Likely scenario, Kidadmiral praises someone else (again) that isn't the Fusou-class, and Fusou will be right there to distract Yamashiro from feeling like second-bananas. Worst case scenario is if Yamashiro still takes the lack of praising to heart, even in her Nee-sama's presence.
Considering how short Yamashiro's skirt was last page (with her butt cheeks visible between the frills), this kid probably just got an eyeful of Fusou's butt.
Naturally, he's unfazed by this, but without context, panel 3 just looks like he's staring at her butt.

I feel Yamashiro's core character trait in this series is "insecure and needs validation". Until nee-sama showed up, kiddo admiral was who she looked to for validation; now she has nee-sama. Which does not mean she won't still crave praise from kiddo, but now if she doesn't get it, she'll go crying to Fusou rather than just sulk by herself in the baths.
I think if we really want to know how things will go with Yamashiro from now on, we'll have to see what Fusou's character is.

That's how I'm reading her - she's really depressed for being an unlucky shipgirl who doesn't pack as much punch as other battleship class shipgirls, and did get addicted to the praise of the Kid Admiral after it was shown he genuinely was happy to see her. That's when she went all possessive/jealous over him, just as she's traditionally shown to be for her sister.
Now that Fusou is present, her primary focus shifts back to the sister ship so shares her misfortune... and unlike her, isn't as needy.
Mind you, if I was in the Kid Admiral's position, I'd be upgrading them both and putting them on sorties, since Mutsu can't carry the fleet herself and Kako with Haguro aren't going to pack the anti-air capabilities of the Fusou sisters, IIRC. It won't be as good as Akizuki or Teruzuki, but it's better than what he's for right now.
Plus they're very huggable. I can't ignore the Fusou sisters.

I get the feeling after a nice heart to heart, Fusou will probably help Yamashiro try and win the kidmeral's favor. In adorable older sister fashion.

It's not a bad idea at all, the Fusou class with the right equipment can keep up with the Nagatos even after the Nagatos get Kai'd. (Yamashiro's currently packing 2x 41's, Type 91 AP, Spotter Plane). Plus, they're really cost-effective to use.
Also, should kidmiral get around to remodeling Yamashiro, she's going to have a lot of work to do as a BBV. My Fusou-sama is currently the highest leveled ship in my fleet and she's not slowing down...
You really want that second remodel don't you, Fusou? You know I only have one medal right now... what do you mean that's not what you're after... Why are you giggling? (´・ω・`)
Nee-sama!!Fusou-neesama...!I'm going over here now.Nee-sama...!ConcernYes, it's been tough for you, hasn't it.Yamashiro?
