A simple algebra question: 4'x4' round hay bale weighs about 560-570 pounds, or around 255 kilograms. A 1000 pound horse eats roughly 4.5-5 kg of hay per day. Then, if Nagato the battleship carried the maximum amount of weight in hay she could manage, how many horses could she feed if each horse only ate for 1 day?

A quick search says that the difference between standard and full load on Nagato was roughly 6,500 tonnes. That's not an accurate measurement of storage capacity, since you can add weight even above full load if you don't mind riding low, especially if you wanted to actually empty out things like all the ammo or a fuel tank to store more hay, but it will do.

Now then, it would be a simple matter of division, and for ease of calculation, let's say 4.75 kg of hay, and we arrive at 1,368,421.1 horses. (Sorry last tenth of a horse!)

Of course, that assumes we're only carrying hay, if we carry the horses, as well, that's 459.30 kg per horse, or 14,152.1 horses.

(Also, why was only the amount of hay a horse eats in Metric?)

I'm not that good, so if you can help, go ahead. Truthfully I don't know exactly what it means. It's read as "sowawa challe-" (last part truncated).

The last panel is zowawa. Near as I can tell from google, zowa seems to be a sound effect for shuddering or shivering.

ぞわぞわ is the state of making sound nosily, which would mean that a Zowawa challenge is either to not make, or to cause to make someone cry out loudly.

And even if you can count the estimation hays you can bring on nagato, the actual number may vary because of space/storage vol problem, because hays take spaces and the crews also need space onboard.

Also, if its by the sea, some hays might spoiled faster, another reduced amount since you don't wanna some horses sick eating rotten one
