Transcript from a recording preserved on an ancient scroll discovered during excavation in the wilderness:
Alright, Jaune. Just like we practiced. Follow these instructions.
Shield up. Keep your grip tight. Don't forget to keep your front foot forward.
Ready? Go.
Again.
And again.
Okay, now, assuming you aren't cheating... we can take a break... [duration of recording corrupted]
Research memo:
Analysis suggests that hunters of yore trained socially and mentored one another on occasion, even at the ill-fated school of Beacon, the tower of which is clearly visible behind the huntress. It is unknown what type of regimen "Jaune" was undergoing, but clearly he did so while distanced from his mentor such that she recorded drilling videos for him.
Though only three repetitions of whatever this drill was meant to instruct upon were performed, they were centrally important to "Jaune". The accompanying informational data of the recording shows that it was replayed over 1,000 times. Whether this drill was to be performed with many repetitions of the recording at once or with few repetitions over a longer period, it suggests "Jaune" may have been an ardent hunter in training to have followed the recording that many times.
Correspondence with ancient history of the hunters suggests that the scroll this recording came from, which unfortunately has experienced memory deterioration to the point that only the recording was salvageable, may have belonged to a legendary hunter named Jaune Arc.
In such a case, then, the huntress may presumably have been one of his esteemed compatriots in the struggle against the nemesis who commanded Grimm against humanity known as Salem, though sources do not describe a huntress of her features in the battles leading to Salem's demise, and no preserved or discovered historical hunting armor appears to correspond to her gear...
