It's not easy for a villain known by everyone as a hero to be completely sane when he or she turned back to a hero, they will feel minor emotional and mental instability that can be overcome.

Shoukaku in Sakimiya's doujin series was ACWD in "Level 1 Zuikaku" and was a emotional wreck full of guilt, only when loli-Zuikaku confronted her then she reverted back to Shoukaku and let most of the guilt go. Of course, she has still some of that guilt remaining after reverting but only when the new strips are released, we will see whether Shoukaku let it all go or not.

Kaga slowly backing away is probably the best part of this page.

It's more that, as Mizuki, she didn't need to worry about friendly fire as much. Akagi and Zuikaku keep upsetting her demeanour more than becoming an Abyssal did. Plus, she wasn't decanted until the war had ended.... so she only had to bear the guilt of being bait in a trap to catch more shipgirls.
