Simple, because only female Salazzle have been found. There's plenty of male Salandit (the pre-evolved form of Salazzle) running around in the wild. Just replace 'For some reason' in your head with 'Because male Salandit can't evolve into Salazzle'. With conditions like that (you can't piss on that volcano without hitting a male Salandit), a reverse harem is child's play to achieve.
If you ever struggled to get a female Combee for the sake of getting Vespiquen, it's that kind of (or)deal . . . only this time you don't have to paint all the trees from Canalave to Sunyshore with honey and pray to the gods, you just get to run up and down the mountain all day 'til the one-in-a-million (read: 7-to-1 male/female ratio + RNG) girl lizard decides to see who this idiot running around a volcano is.
It's almost ridiculously obvious how they sexualized this thing. They may as well said, "She wants you. Take her now."
Well I last played pokemon seriously was a while back like Silver and Gold days and from what I have been seeing they have been going down that path at a steady pace. Around Black and White they went bolder
