Translations can only be self-checked before they're applied to posts; no one else can check a translation note that hasn't been added yet. However, not all translators always have sufficient skills (or pay sufficient attention even if they do have sufficient skills) to check themselves 100%. For those with limited translation skill who are more aware of their limitations, that's the purpose of the "check_translation" tag. For those who aren't aware of their limitations, or who make mistakes because they're rushed or not paying enough attention, there are other translators to check their work.

You're always welcome to point out mistakes like the one made here, but realize that the reason you don't see more translations that require such corrections is that some of them are already being corrected by people who check them. Even those people don't have time and ability to check and correct everything here, though, so please do feel free to help share the load when you can.

Don't sweat it; like I said, even the good translators, such as yourself, don't always pay 100% attention and check themselves completely.
